Mengel Night Stand

I picked up this Mengel nightstand and I have tried to research but have come up empty. I can find info on the Mengel mid century modern pieces but nothing on this. The drawer has an image inside that says Permanized Mengel Furniture, but unfortunately I cannot get the image to upload. Any ideas about this piece?

 

Personal opinion is 1950's adaptive Chippendale style. I think Mengel's more contemporary styles are more well known, but they probably produced a line of more traditional styles as well. Permanized would refer to the finish, I believe. Those that know more than I will be along presently.

 

I think Mansons has this right. Mengel's modern design furniture is sought after. There is little to no demand for the other designs. It is just used furniture at this point with the name adding little cachet.

 

Anyone know the name of this particular piece?

 

Jose, I've always seen them referred to as "open nightstands" or "open shelf nightstands".

 

I have the entire bedroom set that consists of: 1 tall "hers" chest of drawers, 2 long his/hers dressers, 1 night stand and 1 4-poster queen size bed frame. Would love to acquire another night stand and a king size version of the bed frame! It was originally my Grand Parent's bedroom set that was purchased I'm guessing in the early to mid- 1950's. My Grandfather worked for Sears, so I was just assuming this line was carried by Sears, but it may not have been. I'd love to know more about the styles, hardware, etc.

 

There would not have been a king size bed available in the 1950s.
