Featured Figurine, mother consoling a child. Very difficult to read the stamp!

Again, having a tricky time interpreting the handwritten signature. Anyone has any clue? Country, approximately when produced would be much appreciated as well.

Inherited but likely to be older than at least 1970.

 

What country are you in ? To me that looks circa 1930s .

A relative passed away so we have a few things to take care of. This figurine we have two pieces of. Both are marked with 1 inside and only one have the handwritten piece of paper.

 

I'm sorry I do not know the maker, but it's a beautiful figurine. You mentioned you have another by the same maker? Perhaps showing that one would help to identify this one?

 

Sorry, I was unclear. I do have another figurine but it looks exactly the same as the one I have posted pictures one.

@daludolou , How have you been interpreting the writing so far? I'm still trying to make out where the separations between the words are. So far one interpretation could be: J. o due fers. The "o due" part in the middle translates to "or two" in Italian. I wonder whether the first letter could actually be a number 1. Then it would say "1 or two" with another word after.

All of this is just a theory. It does look like there is a dot after the first letter, which would mean it is a letter and not a 1.

Just trying to help, but I do think it's at least possible that what's written on the paper is a phrase and not a name.
