Featured “Abstract” Art Painting

Good Morning Folks!
I thought it would be interesting to share some of photos of this somewhat odd thing. It’s from the mid-60’s by an artist Primo Angeli who is known for his graphic art and poster work. It came to me through a relative in SanFrancisco who was acquainted with the artist at that time.

What a wonderful thing to own! Although Angeli is better known for his graphic design work, including the logo he did for the BOUDIN bakery in San Francisco. If you're unaware... A few years ago, there was an exhibition of his work at the California Museum in Sacramento.

Cool painting! If possible I would try to get your relative to write up something documenting the history of the painting.

 

Unfortunately my relative has passed. I did get some information via email from another artist who was “in that scene” in SF at that time who’s art I found with personal inscriptions to my relative. In addition there is another smaller piece that Angeli had inscribed.
