How gorgeous ! I once went to an estate sale at the beach (Jax) and the whole house was full of cheap 1960s crap. Nothing was high end when new. Apparently when they moved in in the late 60s they furnished it in one swoop from a discount store. To be fair it was all in perfect shape. But I digress. Stacked in a corner with no particular care was many pieces of Flora Danica china. When I asked the sales lady about it she said it was the late owners grandmothers and her granddaughter wanted it .When I explained to her what it was and how valuable it is she about plotzed. You just never know whats going to turn up .

Last weekend I scored a really nice, probably brand new, 14k bracelet for $6 in an estate sale. The company totally blew past the marks and probably didn't give it a second thought. It was sitting with a pile of kid's stuff like that Royal Worcester next to some Chinese rice pattern china. Probably thought it was more of the same.

I don’t think mine will go that high- it’s not quite as well painted. It’s going to Bonhams in December with a £600 reserve. Hoping for more.

There are 4 boxes and in Box 3 there is a japanese Imari plate, looks Meiji period. In Box 2 it appears to be Blush Ivory vases, english but they look printed and not Royal Worcester, but since you found a worcestor already then maybe they are.

It's very easy to believe that true bargains are harder to find these days

This is a perfect example of how a great thing can still evade the popular consensus of what is valuable

    Gives me hope

I gave the Meiji Imari to the charity shop. The decanter is really nice and they got that too. I fished the phone out of the bin and cleaned it up and, yes , that went to the charity shop too. The blush pieces were not good enough and went in the bin. I reckon the charity shop will make over £100 , I’ve got my Worcester plus a fine German delft charger and all for a paltry £15.30. Best Buy for a while.

The charity shop will make a nice packet, provided they know what they've got. If not they'll still clear a good bit to the dealers who come through and snatch it all up.

I told them what everything was so they should do okay. Looked in today and most already sold
