Very beautiful necklace. CM210814-144649002-540x1168.jpg CM210814-144758005-540x1066.jpg CM210814-144732004-540x1066.jpg CM210814-144706003-540x1168.jpg Small pearls and crystals of the bezel. Crystals are hard, they scratch the glass. Everything looks big in the photo, but it's all small. Incredible shine.

It is beautiful, Aznathalie. How long is it? Are the crystals blueish?

I think I have seen a similar one before, but can't remember where. Maybe one of the others knows.

To my eye, it appears to be a marriage. What do others think?

I couldn't say. There are two crystals on either side of the bail of the pendant, whereas the rest of the necklace has only one crystal in between two pearls.

They don't share any design elements. I wouldn't be surprised if the jelly fish pendent was contemporary and the necklace older.

    It's a flapper necklace. It's only worth 49 cents:

Another one of your Bing image search finds? Teach Bing a bit about dating beads and techniques.;) It is shorter than flapper necklaces. But Bing is right about one thing, it is a sautoir style necklace.

I see what you mean, it is a bit like jhumka earrings.

"only worth 49 cents".... Did you intend that as a joke? Or do you not realize how long ago that would have been printed?

Could it be rock crystal? The bezel scratches glass well.

I found a similar necklace listed as a 1981 Chanel necklace, but it has more of those crystals in between the pearls, at irregular intervals:

It says "The year 1981 is hallmarked on the chain", can you find anything on the chain?
Maybe there were more necklace styles in the same range?
If yours is not a genuine Chanel, it is a beautiful quality copy. Or it is a marriage, as Debora suggested, maybe using parts of a Chanel necklace.:(

Crystal is harder than glass. Swarovski crystal, for instance, has a hardness of 6-7 on the Mohs scale, while regular glass has a hardness of 5.

Thank you. There are no marks on my sautoir. But I have this one with marks Chanel. Screenshot_20210814-214725~2-432x585.png

This listing says it is Swarovsky crystal, but you would have to do more research into yours. It also says it has a Chanel tag, which yours could have lost during a conversion into its current state. If it was originally a Chanel necklace, that is, and not a copy.

    Thank you very much!
My crystals have a slightly different shape. The cone is on the other side.
