Statue / Antiquities ? Any Info Please

This belongs to a friend of mine , she isn’t much into internet search etc…I read a thread yesterday ( honestly didn’t know what antiquities actually meant) any hoots this was given to her many many years ago and of course my curious mind could not stand looking at this without knowing anything about it, if it’s just a handsome statue or what it is … it’s about 30 in tall by 3.5 at the base … So any help would be appreciated once again

 

I'd guess it's a Mayan limestone carving, but no idea how old it may be.

 

From the photos, it looks cast rather than carved. Can you tell, having it in hand?

 

grit or sandstone perhaps ?

 

I honestly know the difference I will read up on it and try to identify the difference

 

I think it is beautiful.
The style is Zapotec, rather than Maya, imo.
What concerns me are the lighter carving lines, which I have never seen on genuine pieces. So I think it is a well-made replica, but I would contact a museum just to be sure.

 

It’s heavy , almost reminds me of concrete! This is clearly one area I have NO CLUE about lol! We happen to have a museum in the town we live in, I will tell her to take it there . I truly appreciate all your advice
