Antique wash cabinet from a ship or train

Hi all. I believe this is a antique wash cabinet from either a train or a ship from around 1900’s. It is obviously not complete and needs restoration. The missing porcelain wash basin is a very big problem
(also needs the holding brackets) I assume it would be nearly impossible to find a replacement basin. Must be rare.. Would you agree? Also is there a way to tell if from a ship or a train? Thanks for any comments. Stands 75cm tall.

I don’t think so? Had a look again now and the intact example I found online didn’t have a seat either.The lid should also be removable. The basin would have been marked ‘Copeland Ironstone’

 

A replacement basin shouldn't be that hard to find, though, granted, an original would be borderline impossible. Maybe something round with a wood surround, as they use when transforming chests of drawers and sideboards to bathroom sinks, would look the part. Just an idea.

 

Thanks for comment. Very good idea the matching wood surround to make things fit and I agree it should look nice. Great pity about the original basin,would have been a true find if the wash cabinet was complete.
