Wooden Carved Dog - antique?

    Hi there

    I am trying to help a friend identify the history of this lovely piece.

    Could it be antique, is it Black Forest? It's 11" and solid.

    Any insight welcome.

    I think not carved well enough to be Black Forest (his anatomy is quite peculiar). Probably just a little bit of folk art, which is impossible to date.
