Many thanks. Persia was also utmost in my mind. I'll say Persian-inspired late 18th. century earthenware plate then. It's for an article I'm working on: https://bbddduck.wixsite.com/website/post/the-ambiguity-of-perception and will thank "members of antiquers.com" accordingly. I'm working on dating at the moment, which unfortunately is my Achilles' heel :-(

Sorry, our messages crossed :) The photo of the back is in #10 above. I had thought of saying "Islamic-inspired" to begin with, which is an even wider area I know, but it fits in with my narrative that such double-bird designs were prevalent in different cultures all over the world, and still is.

Interesting.:) Can we 'tag' you for questions if we get a question about Peranakan-related ceramics?
Oh dear, Achilles heel doesn't sound very confident, surely it isn't that bad? My (unsollicited :shame:) advice: Be yourself, and show an interest in the other person.
    Good luck!:)

Yes, please do as I do not access this site as often as I'd like to. Anything to help. Thank you once again. And oh yes, it is that bad: dating left heel, pricing right heel ;-)
