What is this vase? Chinese or Japanese

    Suspect it's Chinese, but your are right the kanji are odd. Perhaps made in Vietnam for the Chinese market hence the odd script.

    It's weird garlic shape the lizard looks good but the blend paint is bad I seen few antiques of this shape & lizard the writing is way off & the writing. I seen a lot of fake stuff but they end up being genuine I can't tell with this

    I would lean toward fake, The drill holes are a new technique used on fakes to try and mislead and decieve. Not to much different than putting some light chips and rubbing dirt on the base. The fake biscuit coloured base and the super glued on lizard all not good. However if it is fake then i have no idea what it is trying to be. It might just be a crazily decorated vase.

    That's what I was thinking fake lucky i didn't buy it. Ended up buying sweet meat dish. Love finding rare porcelain
