Featured silver basket

    good day to all:) can someone help me evaluate this little basket?I found him recently among the old family objects.

    I believe that your little basket was made in either the Soviet Union or one of their neighboring Communist states. The material of which it is made is not silver at all, but an alloy of nickel that mimics silver. In the west this kind of silver substitute is called alpaca, nickel silver, metal blanc or german (small g, not the country) silver, depending on the country.

    I think it cost 4 roubles so probably not silver.
    In the Soviet era prices were state fixed so they tended to mark everything with a price.
