Good morning. I would appreciate any input on this majolica vase I picked up this weekend, particularly the age and style. It's 9.25 inches tall and the top opening is about 5 inches across.

No maker's mark but there is the number 20 (or 29) incised on the base.

    TIA. IMG_17292mp.JPG IMG_17302mp.JPG IMG_17312mp.JPG IMG_17342mp.JPG IMG_17372mp.JPG

I am not sure I would call this "Majolica" because the glaze appears to be a more modern standard. Your vase is a hand-built slab of clay, a one of a kind piece, with a common ceramics glaze. While I think it's beautiful, it does not appear to have a lot of age to it.

I am not ruling out Majolica, but I totally doubt it...

Nice vase, it has an Art Nouveau-ish look. I am not seeing majolica either, but it is not my area of expertise. The pottery people will be along later.

Thank you antidiem. My first thought looking at it was 1970's - primarily because of the earthy, organic colors and subject choice.

Agreed it could be the seventies! It's a beautiful piece. Looks never used too..
