Is it glued in and the back not removable the frame? You're going to have a tough time preparing and painting the wood without protecting the "art" unless you can get it out.

I wouldn't be too sure that wasn't a reproduction. And roughly the age of the frame -- 1980s. There appears to be something printed in the lower right hand corner. Would you share with us what it is?

(And, fyi, the close-up photograph of the framer's label is out of focus.)

I really want a good look at the writing in the lower right-hand corner. A lot of advertising art has been reprinted over the years, but the official reprints are always marked.

One on Worthpoint described thusly: "Although the image and advertising dates back to the 1800's, the poster was probably printed in the 1970's as a reproduction."

That would agree with date of frame.

  9. written lower right is New York,Boston,Chicago
without taking the butcher paper off it appears to be rather thick not paper thin stock under the tacking staples
So I guess I meant it wasn't a glued on piece of copy paper as someone asked if it was glued on

Could well be 1970s how would I figure it out ?take the paper off?

The best way to know what you have is to take it out of the frame. Removing the kraft paper will not harm value and it can be replaced. These appear to have been reproduced by Portal Publications of Sausalito sometime after 1963 (using the postal code to set "earliest" date.) You can compare yours against this reproduction.
