Hello there. I am in the Bay City, MI area and purchased an antique secretary desk from an estate sale. It is one piece and I am pretty sure it is heavy. I can lift along with another person but I don’t have anything to wrap it in to protect it on the ride home. The piece is about 7ft tall. What should I use to protect the piece in the move? Should I hire a professional mover?

Your local U-haul dealer probably rents heavy duty furniture blankets.

Do you plan to lay on its back or move upright? If on its back, make sure the glass doors are supported in the middle. If a slant-front, leave that portion closed. If a cylinder or roll-type, move with it open. If moving upright, make sure it is well wrapped, padded, and firmly secured from moving.
