Small hand carved pitcherThank you for any information

Hello I picked up this little picture at a thrift store I go to a lot I would send you the measurements but I cannot find my tape measure again , but it fits in the palm of your hand and I really like the painting of the woman so just wondering if you recognize the name , Thank you for any information

 

I believe Dinard is a place in France though it certainly could be a person's name also.

I found a wood carved box that I think may have been a souvenir from Dinard though different than yours. It appears to have a small carver's signature next to the "Dinard" which made me think it could be a place instead of a maker.

Believe you have a souvenir of Dinard, showing a Breton woman, carved in 1970, perhaps by someone with 'VAN' as part of their signature. Here is one of similar form from Cancale:

It says Dinard, but I would have guessed the costume is Pont-Aven. Both are in Brittanny, so it is Breton, as Cheryl said.

To be honest I thought she had an Asian look to her

 

White hats with bows are generally European.
