I am not sure if this is good thing or not. It has a chip, a 1/2 In. piece missing on the lip.
It looks hand painted. A few years ago I had a damaged piece that I thought was junk and it
turned out to be valuable. So what do you think, Chinese, Japanese, hand painted or not, good or junk.

    It's Japanese Fukagawa, late-Edo or early-Meiji Period.

Yes, it's a nice vase. Japanese items haven't been selling great for me lately, though. Throw it up on Ebay, could surprise you. Key words "Kakiemon style Arita" included in title. Meiji Period is basically mid 19th century to early 20th, Edo is before that....18th through early part of 19th century.

Thanks so much. I do not know anything about oriental things. I had a house call bought a few oriental things, flying by the seat of my pants. Some were fiber and I do know about fiber but the pottery is was a guess. Thanks for taking the time to inform me.
