    Hi Antiquers,

Low priority request. I recently purchased these two chairs from a thrift in Chicago, IL. The seat is about 14x18" and they are 34" tall. Any ideas on below are appreciated, just curious about their possible history. They have a faint design on the seat.

    1) kind of wood
    2) hints on whether they were produced by German/Swedish/Dutch manufacturer?
    3) age

    Thanks, love this site!

Looks 1930's-40's, possibly earlier, made of oak. Design is fairly generic . . . without markings by the maker, it will be hard to determine the country it was made in.

Thanks for responding. These chairs are fairly common but its good to know theyre oak. I was hoping the cutout pattern on the chairback would be distinctive to a specific country but I guess not. No maker indication on them. Thanks!
