This plate came in a recent group lot as one of the 'also ran' pieces. The body is very nicely made and has a Meissen impressed mark, but the painting in the centre isn't up to snuff for Meissen. So it's going to be an outside decorated Meissen blank, but it has an odd crossed swords mark that I haven't come across before, also a bit sneaky given the impressed mark. Any thoughts on the decorator, and age? The reticulated style looks 1860's but the painting style looks a bit later to my eye.

Aha, many thanks that ties all the dates up neatly and matches the item. The quality of the body does surprise me for what it is, it's on a par with mid 19th century Minton. Interesting combination.
