White Buddha

    Hello :) Can somebody help?

    My friend gifted me the statuette but we were not able to date it and figure out the country of origin. The friend had bought it at a flea market in Russia.
    So any help would be good.

    Welcome, Kaze.
    The style looks Thai. More photos are welcome, of the bottom as Johnny said, but also a closeup so we can see the material. Is it cold to the touch?

    Oh, thank you :)
    My camera is not the best but I hope the pictures are informative enough.
    The material is cold and heavy. Maybe it is a gypsum but I'm not sure.

    Probably alabaster, related to gypsum.
    We have a member, @AuDragon , who could probably pinpoint the exact region your Buddha was made in, but he is currently settling in in Chiangmai, Thailand. He will probably check in over the next few weeks..
    I'm sure looking at the Buddha will give you the patience to wait.:) He is sitting in the posture of meditation.
