Featured Chinese Shell Plate

    This is a something I found lately, a Chinese export dish in shell shape, 20 x 19.5 cm. I think it is still late 18th c, would you agree ( or not)?

    For age, do you actually mean late 1800s (late 19th century)? Looks pretty good for something from the 1700s (18th century).

    The foot/style looks 3rd quarter of the 19th C to me.

    It has that Tongzhi base alright but I think it might be qianlong all the same. OP might be about right. It is that shade of blue that make me think it.

    Thank you all for your comments! As for the age I meant late 18th c as 1780 or 1790. Yes, the dish is in good shape. It has some wear but no chips or cracks. This kind export porcelain, which is often called Canton blue & white, is generally more massive and has these footrims which remind late 19th c pieces. As to the style, the 19th c examples are more schematic and the border is different. IMO this border with the butterlies is an indicator that it is still a late Qianlong piece...
