So I have purchased items from the deceased estate of a Former Brazilian Diplomat. I have tried to buy as much of his estate in the auction as possible but I only got what I could afford. now a lot of it was art obviously acquired over the years as a diplomat but I have been unable to identify the artist on a large amount of it and was hoping that the more experienced members of this forum can assist me in knowing what I have.
1st painting actually has a plaque with the official presidential seal attributing this as a gift from the Vietnamese president to the ambassador. it is a lovely piece that is painted in a way to give an illusion of depth.

2nd these are a couple of paintings that are unframed on canvas, whilst a little damaged they have a great South American subject matter

These are a number of Chinese paintings/prints on silk. I am unsure as to the value or rarity of these and I have very little experience with Chinese art

The last painting you have posted "p stinson" is amateur art. Someone who probably liked to paint in their free time as I can not find nothing on that name and the work is pretty beginner. Stoll looking for your other work you posted

Your second painting looks to be signed "Kevin h" but couldn't find nothing on that either.

I need help is correct that one etching is h vergne. I can't help for the Chinese section. Your other etching looks to have a last name of "robin" there are a couple European artist that did etchinga and had the last name robin but sign was totally different. Not sure if I'm looking at the last name correctly.

My knee jerk reaction is they are all tourist art, except maybe the Chinese one.

Jivvy the research is my favorite

1: I don't know anything about it, but I am troubled by the significant varnish/shellac drips (most notable in the signature pic).
2: I suspect these are tourist pieces from Peru.
    3: Not my area.
4: Haven't found anything, yet, but I do like the first two pieces quite a bit. Also still working on the third piece (vergne). The fourth piece... I'm reserving judgment on this one for the time being.

Thanks for all the kind words and help guys
i will put up a few more pictures of the 1st one today to show the plaque on it. it does have some uneven surface in the signature area mainly but they are not as bad as the picture would indicate, it is the way i have taken the picture that brings it to the front.
i also suspected the south American pieces would be tourist pieces but hoped they might have some real value
thanks for all the information in such a short period of time. great site!

@Serial something is on left bottom of first 2 etchings. Either light or erased. Please try to get a photo there.
Also sometimes helpful to show backs of art, even if nothing is written. Thanks!

The Chinese paintings on silk are probably as stated (as per the stamp) what they are supposed to be --- hand painted. They are mass produced in China and sold as tourist souvenirs. Depending on your bargaining skills and where you are buying one (privately owned or state shop,) you may pay anywhere from $10 to $200 or more for one.
