Clay Water Buffalo? Pipe

    Any ideas on this piece? Don't even remember where I picked it up at. Looks touristy to me. Stands 3" tall and is 4" long with a 2 1/8" diameter bowl. It has a black glaze and some type of red rust colored pigmentation applied also as seen in the small crevices. The clay itself is a gray color as evidenced by the chipped ear in the last photo.Thanks.

    It probably is touristy and may be from Crete. Try searching "bull rhyton"

    Well, Zambia is not Cameroon........ At least we got you to the right continent. :)

    Those are much more similar than the examples I was finding from Cameroon. What information was included with the second image you found, Dig?

    A Sotho clay pipe bowl, South Africa, modelled as an antelope with diced panelled bowl, with traces of red pigment, 10cm long.
