Featured Desk and Bookcase

    claws. poplar and cherry secondary. raised panel back. slip-matched panels. yellow pine braces on cornice which may be later. Found near Hilton Head. same estate as the table posted. Guesses as to origins?

    Refinished and not Victorian looking, so out of my area. Would guess it to be a reproduction.

    Guesses northern & not mid-Atlantic or southern because the backboards & shelves appear to be white pine

    Agrees. A late Chippendale style desk/bookcase with cockbeaded drawers, dentil molding at the crown, and some very attractive burl, guesses mid to late 19th century.
