Hi! Getting interested in collecting art pottery after picking up a few pieces at an estate sale. Let me know what your favorite reference books / authors are for 20th century art pottery. Thanks!

Sorry - getting over a bad head cold and just not up to typing the titles but here the ISBN numbers I would recommend:

    Weller - ISBN# 0891451145
    McCoy - ISBN# 0963353136
    Roseville - ISBN# 0891450157 and ISBN# 0891451390
As an introduction art pottery in general - ISBN #1574324837

Don't pay attention to any of the price guides as prices have fallen pretty dramatically for most art pottery. eBay sold listings and Live Auctioneer results will give you a better feel for today's market.

The only book I can add to the above is Warman's Weller Pottery by David and Denise Rago - ISBN 978-0-89689-468-6

My recommendation for Roseville pottery is ROSEVILLE IN ALL ITS SPLENDOR by Nancy and Jack Bomm ISBN: 0895380951. This is as nearly complete as any book I've seen; it includes pages from the original catalogs. I have the other books by Huxfords and they are OK, but incomplete as to patterns, etc..
For Weller pottery, I'd recommend Schiffer's WELLER POTTERY by Jeffrey Snyder ISBN 13: 9780764321863. Again, it's the most complete book I've seen and has a list of all known Weller lines.
I've got nearly a dozen books on McCoy pottery, but not the new McCOY POTTERY by Bob Hanson and Craig Nissen that consolidates the three earlier McCoy books and adds catalog info, etc.
