Hello. There is a mark on the bottom of this vase. Does anyone knows if it is Daoguang Mark? Thank you for all your help.

Yes its is, but i cannot say if it is of period or a later copy. Copies are more frequent than period Marks.

Please can you give us a better picture of the vase, and base. It might be Republic with a Daoguang seal. The vase will tell use much more about it's age.

Your Mark is the Zhuanshu, or seal-form imperial reign mark of Daoguang as opposed to being the kaishu ( normal script) version.

It reads Da Qing Daoguang Nian Zhi, or ‘Made in the Great Qing Dynasty during the reign of the Daoguang Emperor’ (1821-1850).

Here is an example of a qianlong seal and how it is read, note how similar the Daoguang and Qinalong seals are. With only the Central panel of script being different.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

This looks like an excellently written "learning" site for uninformed people like me who know nothing about reign marks.

Thank you Figtree, It is a very useful guide. As you can quickly scan it for a particular reign mark. Gotheborg is great too but you have to click through several catagories.

The mark needs to be turned so that what is currently on the right side should be at the top.

The error says the attachment cannot be found. You must have deleted that file.

Yes it wont open for me either. It would be interesting and helpful to have a better picture of the vase, but no pressure.

The picture of the base is working, that is fine, but the picture of the vase wont open. It might be because it is bigger than 1MB so you have to resize it. I think you might need to do it on the PC workstation or if using your phone then perhaps consider checking if there is an app for such a task.
