I found where this had sold at an auction back in 2014 but very little other than that. They called it a German porcelain box circa 1920s. I know it's not a half doll as they're generally the upper half of a doll made to sit on something makeup related and it's not a googly eye doll because when you search those you get porcelain baby dolls. Maybe it's as simple as a porcelain box? No particular style?

He's 6.5" tall, 3.5" wide, and 3" deep. There's a stamped indentation on the back of his right foot that says 65872 and a stamp of the number "24" on the bottom.

Does a description along the lines of novelty lidded jar in the shape of a boy turn up anything? It is very cute.

What is hanging from his right wrist?

I wonder whether he's an equestrian with that helmet and bobbed hair?

It looks like a simple cane to me, like he's just going on a leisurely stroll

Someone suggested a cookie jar one time, but I don't know of a cookie jar that small. I definitely don't know of one that opens at the middle of the jar
