Featured Blue John or Amethyst silver ring?

    Simple little ring.Needs a good clean!
    I’m thinking Blue John as I think it’s English? Would that be right? Other option is amethyst?
    Also is it datable from the style and the Silver stamped on the back?

    Looks like it to me too, or Chinese export jewerly accidentally resembling same. Blue John is a fluorite or close enough, and amethyst that ain't. It's marked Silver, so the setting has been around a while.

    Any ideas on the date of the setting? There isn’t much to go on as it’s so simple.

    That silver mark in the UK is typically 20s ish, or slightly earlier. Play a UV on that and have fun.
