I'd like your opinions on this stretch glass plate regarding who made it.

It's red/amberina and measures 7 3/4" in diameter with a 3 1/4" base ring. It looks like it might be an underplate since the center ring is so deep. Would you agree on underplate? I'm thinking it was not made by any of the American companies, but maybe by Poschinger?? I'm basing that on the way this was made and the base. It looks like all one piece with no mold lines and a ground pontil (is it correct to say ground marie?). Here are the photos. Thank you!

It's correct to say "ground marie" if the marie is ground, but it's not often mentioned.

Is a "ground marie" the same thing as a "ground pontil"? I was over looking at Shetlar's site this morning where he explains plate differences and he talks about ground maries where I would likely have said ground pontil.

The marie is a base of a piece, a ring cast into it in the mold.
A pontil is a point of attachment for a punty rod, usually in blown ware, but also used to tool pressed ware.

What time period would this be from? I have a blue bowl, somewhat larger (around 12"), very similar to this one in many respects. If I can find where I have packed it away I should post a photo, I've never had any idea who it was made by.

These Poschinger items are shown in Shetlar's book on stretch glass and he states that they were imported from Germany during the 1960s - 70s.
