I hope that’s ok!

We don’t have a lot of information on these dolls. I’m very curious to know if you know anything about them.

I’ll start with the first doll and post the other two in replies!

This doll has a very soft, rubbery body and appendages. She’s in great shape aside from one small area of separation on a knee. She’s got some information written on her in pen. 40D65548-C751-420A-B936-A6217A3FB0DE.jpeg DA548A8D-57B4-41CF-B3A5-2A3C20A49E3E.jpeg D8FF9EAC-643F-445D-ADC0-0809C641D6DD.jpeg 5AAA3866-129E-4E50-970D-13CB29416237.jpeg

I'm definitely not a doll person, but the wonderful and knowledgeable @judy can certainly help you.

    Hi Shannel.....

You did the correct thing by starting your own thread.

They appear to be from the 50's era. However the first one I think is later.

Thank you for the confidence Sabre! It's appreciated.

Not sure how helpful I can be with these.

Modestly priced dolls in their day.

I don't believe that the doll with the writing has anything to do with the manufacture. If your grandmother's name was Carol, I'd think it was addressed to her.

Two dolls in a box...........the one on the right. Looks to be hard plastic, and wonder if she is marked?

The one with A-E mark......this link might be helpful.

This one was really neat! If you flex her leg, her head turns from side to side! My grandma could remember where she got her, it’s possible it is one of her dolls from her childhood, but it would really just be a guess as she doesn’t have a memory of it. (She was born in 1937)

her scalp looks to have been painted under the hair. Eyes work as well. 0CC593FA-69D2-4B6E-91A7-6EA5242AE394.jpeg D8D464AC-4D01-4E29-9EF3-EECE2715C354.jpeg

Sorry for the late post on the doll from the right! I had to pick up my kids and the WiFi where I was at wasn’t working well.

We don’t know who Carol might have been.

I couldn’t find any markings on the lightest colored hard plastic doll. She definitely has some springs inside her(I could hear them), which are most likely responsible for the mechanism that moves her head with the leg movement.

The hard plastic doll is a walker, who may not be working quite right today, that's why her head turns when her legs are moved.

For those of you who don't open links, hard plastic walking dolls were first made in the 1950s, soft vinyl dolls with rooted hair, about 1960.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

@judy, this is the best I could bring out with severe contrasting, from the last image on the back of the doll's head.....not much to go on, I know.....I think I see something that looks like maybe a 'J' then space, then 'Je' or 'Jo.' then could be an 'h' but just not clear enough........sorry....

    @Taupou is correct......a "walker"

I'll go through my books a bit later to see if I can find her.

If you peel back the wig somewhat you might find a mark.

She could be an American Character doll. I don't have a book devoted to just AC dolls.

I'm not sure if there is one.

You will need to undress the doll and compare head and body to what you can find on the net.

She is the better of the dolls that you have.

I am heading back over there soon, so I can do more looking for marks. I searched the walker dolls, and she looks very similar to the saucy walker, but that one has teeth, and this doesn’t.

I don't think she is either. I think I have a Saucy Walker....or did at one time.
