Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    Relatively speaking.....newer....

My opinion: The rod or nut connecting the components appears to be plated zinc; origin, probably China; age, 10 years or less.

    Thanks @Robert Ransom.
I have absolutely no idea what plated zinc or other materials should look like so I took it apart to be able to photograph well so that you can judge it better.

i thought this candle holder consists of 3 pieces but surprising to see that it is made up of several pieces. I could also finish the top piece if I exerted enough force, but I haven't done that now.

    it looks like a bit of a mixed bag:dead: 20220212_152606_copy_1209x1209.jpg 20220212_152906_copy_1209x1209.jpg

Could be as early as the 50s/60s, and thus made anywhere, but if newer, brass is mainly an Indian thing these days, which is what I think.

It appears the cap, small triangle and the base component are threaded. Is this correct? The other two parts appear to be smooth bored.

Not the small triangle. The others are threaded

Edit: or maybe small also has a screw thread. Viewed from the bottom I guess yes

, from the top I doubt.; seemed that there is none or it has been used in such a way that the threads have disappeared

The small triangle appears to have been drilled which resulted in the removal of most of the previously tapped thread. My guess, as to why, is the connecting steel center rod used in the refurb. was slightly thicker due to the zinc coating. If my assumption is correct, the DOM is probably 50's, maybe earlier?
I sent an email requesting closeup photos of the bottom of the base. Will advise upon receipt.

It appears 1stDibs seller will not forward photos of 17th century candle holders. Well, I tried.
