My new loupe has arrived and it has a UV light as well as a normal one so I've been experimenting. The info I've found is conflicting. These glowed purple under it, sorry didn't get a photo of the purpleness. Not sure if it was just a reflection. thumbnail_IMG_20220224_171010.jpg

Under LW UV (most uv lamps) most moonstone doesn't react, or only weakly. However natural flaws and inclusions can cause adularescence and reflect it back, so you can get a blue/violet hue coming back through the stone. Under SW UV they can glow orange.

Just a word of caution if it is the UV being reflected back, it is being concentrated by the lens back into your eye which isn't great. Try to limit your exposure to this for long term eye health.

I agree. No gemologist here but i do collect Mexican moonstone jewelry and the OP’s pretty necklace does not look like moonstone to me from the pics and does look like it could be labradorite.
