    Hi!

Been having problems identifying who this signature belongs to. Swedish/Danish/American collection with artists from all over the world.
Watercolour, 1893. Nothing on the backside. 60x80 cm.
    Anyone know anything?

LM. Quite an elegant monogram signature. Have you opened up the back to see if any information inside?

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

IMHO, could be either as sometimes the M overlaps the L and sometimes the L overlaps the M.... how do you know it's 1893???

Yes, of course. Could be either. LM to my eye. And think 1893 an educated guess. But here is where a photograph of the back is so important because, from the front, the frame certainly doesn't appear to be Victorian.

I am helping a couple find some info before they sell, they got most from a inheritance a decade or two ago so they don't know much. When they removed the back there was nothing, but I've requested a picture. Been looking for monograms with ML and LM but been unsuccessful so far.

The 19th century part was an assumption on what they told me. Should maybe be taken with a grain of salt I just realized.
Sadly they reframed quite a bit which, according to me, ruined the look a bit for some paintings.
