Dog portrait brooch

Hi

Here's another mystery pin. A sort of 3-d portrait of 2 dogs against a faux mother of pearl background. Materials appear to be brass and some sort of plastic. How do I date this? Based on the clasp and overall appearance Im guess 1950's to 1970's...

 

Also it measures 2" diameter

 

Hate to say it, but I have no idea. It's older than I thought and doesnt' look like an American pin. German maybe? 60s?

 

I found one similar on Etsy but the seller apparently doesn't know either as it's just listed as 'vintage' I'm looking at the back and how the image appears to be clipped in with the 4 prongs in the brass frame.

 

Here is a variant of yours as far as the background goes. The pin and the dogs look exactly the same. Unfortunately no original packaging or sticker or maker's mark. So no help except for at least one more example out there in the wild.

Is the background on your pin artfully wrinkled satin or is it mother of pearl? The dogs are on top of the dome or reverse painted underneath? I have terrible depth perception with digital photos!
