Featured Vintage Black Lacquer Mother of Pearl Oriental Grandfather Clock

This is one of the pieces of oriental items from a storage auction.I believe this is a Japanese grandfather clock with inlaid mother of pearl geisha ladies.I'm not sure but I believe their faces are ivory.on the face of the clock is Germany.Black lacquer.I do have the pendulum,key and weights.Anybody know if this is vintage or what is it called,Japaness,Chinese?? I will be loading up a few more pieces I got out of that auction.

 

Can you look closely at the clock face? See if there’s a manufacturer’s mark. The face doesn’t look terribly old to me from the pics.

See if there’s any markings at all; the clock makers often sold the movement, and then the clock maker would add the face and the cabinet.

Other manufacturers offered mix-and-match catalogs.

See if there’s anything like a name on the back of the movement and hopefully a serial number.

 

You’re looking for a mark like Becker, Kienzle, or perhaps a clockmaker plate showing name and location.

Love the clock but that corner cabinet is dreamy !

 

Ive got a small cabinet in this vein and I never did figure out who made it.

 

Couldn't find anything on the clock,but will continue to look for any name.
