Teapot or not

    Could anyone help me with the identification of this piece please . I have a newspaper article from 1974 with a picture of this in saying it was excavated from close to the tomb of cyrus the great . It is quite heavy and damaged . But I would love to know more about this . It has carvings of birds and flowers on it , tia

    May I suggest measurements plus info on when and where you acquired it? Maybe more pics?

    So this pot is 41/2 inches high and wide . It was gifted to my late father by his late partner . The paper article is a story about his late partner and her world travels Screenshot_20220408-094334_Gallery.jpg

    Maybe attach a copy as a document rather than as a picture?
