I would love to hear you thoughts on this pin. No marks at all. Tests sterling. Does it symbolize something? Any ideas on age and origin appreciated as always.

Very sweet, I don't have any real help unless it was modelled from a section of a famous fountain - just a guess.

From an architectural detail. Certainly possible.

I surmise a museum replica piece or someone like Past Times who made themd jewellery.

@Pattywithay any chance you can upload a higher resolution of the back and front, it might help. Also, did you check the sides for tiny touch marks? It looks to be a cast, the best I can tell from the images (i can't tell if this might be replacements), the pin and clasp mechanism don't suggest age of significance (antique), the enameling work on this looks to be very amateur with bleed over to the back. The fact it is testing silver and is unmarked, with all the other details that I am seeing, says to me this is the work of a student learning the craft. An "artisan" in training piece.

I do think it’s cast which makes for lots of small marks all over the sides and back. I’ve been hesitant to do any heavy handed cleaning so they are difficult to make heads or tails of. I will try to clean it up a bit more. Thank you for your input. Here are a few more pictures.

How charming! Although it wouldn't be a typical choice... it reminds me of a figurehead off the prow of a ship...especially with the large splashy blue wave behind him /her...

Those colors make me think of mid century Italian enamel silver. Also the subject, the angel could very well be Italian in my opinion.
