Featured Screw back pearl earrings

    Charity shop find, the pearls are gritty on my teeth.Not sure if they're actually pearls or if it's mother of pearl, how can I tell? They're about 12mm diameter. The only mark is Sterling on the end of the screws. Can't see much through the back, it just looks like mother of pearl but then I've never seen inside a pearl before so am clueless.     Same here. Cultured Mabe pearls set in silver are dead on for the time period.
