    Hi All,

Can anyone help identify the maker(s) of these and their use?

    TIA

I'm noticing that the center mark with the WG and Crown is over stamped on the same mark that is on the second photo.

I couldn't find a whole lot more detail in the tops of those shields by inverting, shading or lightening and contrasting, but the members who know their marks might see something more......

Any thoughts why that would have been done?

Look below the hard edge of the oval containing the WG and Crown. It's the same wreath as in next picture, the dancing woman holding the scarf. Now look at the WG and Crown again, the woman's torso and legs are muddling-up the standing lion.

I think we can apply Occam's razor to the shield with the 1730. It simply contains six stars.
The other shield may have letters above the crown, but I'll wait and see.

OK, now I see what you're referring to! Good eye!! But I'll stick by that looking like a Helmeted Head in the RIGHT shield....zoom in on the image! EDIT!! And I redid my own zooming in and now will agree with you.... @Roaring20s....it does look more like a star....thinking that mar through it made me think it was a line in a helmet!!!!!!!!!! ( :)Even tho it still resembles a profile-to ME!)

I was thinking that was a possibility as well, but I think the neck might be too narrow.

Glad you found that! Very similar about not quite the same (wreath border on mine, for example). Do you think it's variations of the same town mark?
