Featured Help identifying a rocking chair please :-)

    I am new to the forum. I was given a rocking chair that belonged to my great grandfather and I am working to restore it for my daughter. Can anyone help me identify the style and possibly the age?

    Id guess 1900 give or take a few on age. I always thought this style Empire revival,but I could be wrong.

    I think Johnny has this pretty much pegged. Most likely just post-1900, up to 1910 or so. Certainly has some elements of Empire revival, though it doesn't scream so. Likely birch with a red stain to mimic mahogany.

    Empire to renn revival. I'll suggest it is birch, or hard maple.
