Featured Metal compact

I was not sure where to post a compact so hope posting it here is ok. Despite much searching I have not been able to find anything like this piece so I am hoping someone there could help. It is a mystery metal and looks like it has a silver wash on the interior, beveled mirror, wee powder puff. Measures 3” x 2” x 3/4”.
Someone suggested it has a Moorish feel to it but I am not sure about that.

I thought vaguely Egyptian too. Id guess 1920s .I *think* thats when Tuts tomb was discovered and Egyptian was all the rage.

Rouge, I'd think. Indents for lip colour. I suspect it's older: I've had little stamp boxes like this, 1910s ish.

 

The Egyptian decoration fad has come around at least two times that I can think of in the 20th Century. There may have been more, and heavens know the Victorians used anything and everything. This has a real arts and crafts influence to it too, so I'd be inclined to go pre-Deco. 1910-ish would fit.
