Anybody here collects them or watch out for them for resale? I've been adding some antique/vintage ones to my collection. Tying to focus on ones from industry and merchants. Have gotten several cool ice & coal, car dealership, and manufactuing related ones.

    Your thoughts?

My shopping friend looks for them with local businesses on them. She sells them at antique shows :)

The estate sale I worked a couple years ago had hundreds. Most did not sell. Local ones brought a few bucks. Sent to auction and sold in lots where they made less than a buck apiece.

I remember when you got them free. Paint and wallpaper stores gave them away, along with painters' caps and aprons. And free T-shirts as well.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Sounds like they will be fun to collect, @Joe2007 .

I haven't collected them, but there was one leaning on the wall behind the door of the office I had for 20 years in my last librarian position. The name of my predecessor was written on it. The librarian across the hall from me used to occasionally ask if it was still there, laughingly. So I gave it to her while cleaning out the office before I retired a few years ago.

I have a bucket of them in my booth in a mall in SW Wisconsin, mostly local or almost local advertising. I probably sell 5 or 6 in a year, anywhere from $8 to $15 each. There are collectors (Thank you Lord!).
