I can not help but great photos.
What kind of black item are you using if I may ask as it shows the wares so nicely.?

 

Very pretty. They look like dresser scarves to me.

 

Lol. I had my husband put the cover on his pool table so I could organize my linens!

I never thought of it as a good photography background, thank you for pointing it out. It's the largest flat surface except the floors here.

 

What a fabulous array of laces! The ones with the moire centers are particularly interesting.

 

They are plain white- resizing the photos so I can upload gives that effect.

 

Hi Marco! What pretties!
All are machine made laces.
1 and 2 are Schliffli or "Chemical" lace. Made machine embroidery design on a fine fabric background and then drop the piece in a chemical bath which eats the fabric and leaves the embroidery.
3, 4, 7 and 8 are what I like to generally call "petticoat lace". This is a fine machine made lace, usually fairly narrow, which often imitates "hand bobbin Valciennes lace". Usually a floral design. The strips are used alone as in photo 3, or sewn together to make something wider as in 4, 7 and 8. This kind of lace was often used on undergarments and nightwear Turn-of-the-Century. 8 was used with plain netting and the lace trim insets and also layered over the netting.... could have been the top for a little boudoir pillow. It has a little too much netting for a handkerchief.
5 is your most modern piece; fairly common for the last 20 years to be sold as a "wedding handkerchief" at bridal salons.
6. Although the photo doesn't show this clearly... what a daffy down delight this one is! I love the couple in the design! This is probably Turn-of-the-Century (give or take a few years) and fairly unusual! This would be marvelous, framed with a colored background!
and lastly 9. These cute little handkerchiefs were made for export and tourist items from a number of places over the decades - Switzerland, Philippines, Japan. China and others. Sometimes hand embroidered (very hard to tell from the front); but usually machine made. They are pretty and delicate with a multitude of pretty designs usually featuring something floral and worked on a very fine batiste or linen.

Overall a very pretty lot!

Thank you very much! While I love vintage linens, this area is not my forte. I pick them up when they are reasonable.

 

Northern lights Lodge, What a quick education in laces! I have 2 dressers each with 3 or 4 drawers filled with napkins for all occasions - dinner, lunch and cocktail , tablecloths large to small, round ones and runners! I can't get to them in the storage room yet, but look forward to your expertise when I post them,
