Tested as silver. Closed back. Not sure what the stones are as I have not received this item yet, but I assumed glass. I thought it was old, but one never knows.

    Thoughts and opinions welcome!

    Man I love buying again!

Maybe Georgian. Does appear to be silver. Possible that clasp & hinge were replaced at some point (may have also been a piece from something else redone as a brooch). Check those stones; they appear more than glass although glass they may be.
Nothing like a definitive reply, huh?

The pin stem and C clasp are defintely added, either to replace something broken or to make this into something it wasn't originally. The stones are "paste", i.e. old school glass.

The center stone and several others are no older than 1920.

Yes for sure the stones need double checked - JIC :) There was a pin at the auction with a profile of queen victoria and the letters V R. I assumed it was to celebrate when she took the throne. I should have purchased it, but it went higher than I wanted to spend :(
