Rug brought home from Arizona in 1904

    Story is - the rug was given to my gr-grandparents in exchange for a barrel of apples on their travels through the Southwest. Any comments would be appreciated.

    It's one of the most popular Mexican rug designs for the tourist market, a stereotyped Aztec/Mayan warrior in the middle of a Saltillo-inspired stripe pattern.

    Not made in the U.S. and not a Navajo rug (if that's what you were led to believe.) And probably dating to the 1950s or so.

    Hi @A. Arndt and WELCOME!! For future reference, you may want to copy this down until you get used to posting images!!! You did well loading it into the Gallery!!!:happy::happy:
    If using a cell phone, Try emailing them to yourself as "medium" size, they should then be under 1 MB!

    Each image MUST be UNDER 1 MB....
    There are instructions on site here on how to reduce the size of your image, if that is the problem......you are allowed up to 8 images per post!!! Here are some links to the instructions:
