    Oh my, @springfld.arsenal, your latest article brought me right back to being a young kid on Block Island, R.I...Dad would take us in the old Jeep for a ride on whatever beaches we could navigate, searching for old rusted bars of iron sticking up out of the sand....then we'd dig down a wee bit...and were often rewarded with some deadeyes....Lord Knows, there are/were plenty of 1800's shipwrecks around the Island!!!! My brothers didn't get ALL of them though, and I managed to scoff away with two that are still hanging (sans iron!) on our wall in the living room!!! Those days were SUCH FUN!!!! The bottom one's lignum vitae, the top one I'm not so sure about....... hand for size......
