How do I tell if it's real? I think there is no value to the coin since it has been put in the setting. But I am curious if it is an actual silver dollar. Thanks for looking. Dollar 2.JPG Dollar 1.JPG

    It looks real to me.
Put a magnet to it, if it sticks its a fake.
You can take it out of the bezel and weigh it.
A real one weighs 26.73 grams.

Thank you Marie and Davey. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. I'll try the magnet as I don't want to take it out if I don't have to.

At least someone didn't destroy it by drilling holes into it. :p:p:rolleyes:

Thanks to everyone. Berlcrystal-I am glad it doesn't have holes drilled into it too.

Looks real from here too. I'm one of those weird people who buy the drilled coins; since they already have holes they're good for jewelry-making.

1921 is the most common and least valuable Morgan so that lends to the likelihood of it being used like this. It’s likely not damaged too bad I wouldn’t think either.

I noticed the missing prong too but it is firmly in the setting so I will sell as is. This came in a lot that had a few odd things including a pendant made from a rattlesnake tail.
