Hi again. I have two of these 21" wood items. They have periodic metal wraps (whose purpose I don't perceive), and a split cone- like tip. Maybe they also had something on the exposed ends at one time?

    Thanks in advance!

Usually those square tapered ends are ment to be driven into some type of wooden handle so they don't turn while using. The other end (wooden) I have no ideas except to maybe light candels you can't normaly reach? Just a WAG
