Beautiful and elegant ashtray mistery

Hello good people,

I guess I am totally into metalware these days

With this one I will go...hmmm...mid-century and I will say bronze (even so someone once told me it was brass...I cannot agree with that...as this color and patina speak differently to me...also comparing it to other brass pieces I have...it just doesn't seem like brass to me)...

The dimensions are:
Diameter 11cm (4.3 in) - Height (without balls) 2.5 cm (0.9 in)
It is rather heavy for such a small ashtray - it weights around 600 gr (21 oz)

The small balls perfectly hold exactly one normal cigarette

I cannot find the same one anywhere (found some similar shape Danish one but engraved and I cannot be sure its Danish based just on that one...here is the link I found: https://www.pamono.eu/mid-century-danish-bronze-ashtray-from-fredriksvaerk-1950s-1)

I am very eager to find out where is it from and what exact time period.

Can't find anything quite like it. Agree that this is a nice elegant design. Think it is probably MCM but could be from as early as the 30s. I don't think it very similar to the one you linked. Yours is turned/machined, whereas, that one is cast.

 

Nasty habit but lovely, simple design.
