Mezcala Figure

I was wondering if anyone here knows about Mezcala pieces. I received this piece from a local estate and I belive is to be Mezcala. Dimensions are roughly 8" x 3 1/2" x 3". Any additional info as to age, value, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Wish I could help you with this -- you are so generous helping with knowledge regarding paintings and art, would love to be able to help you ID something for once.

Only one thing I can add.

I had some very old Peruvian pieces I posted years ago on the old antiques board, many of the same folks were there. My pieces were from a neighbor who was a professor at the local university, and he had detailed notes on everything and I couldn't wait for the response from one or two of the experts here on such things.

Absolutely no response. So I personal messaged one of the expert boardies, and received a kind note, basically said that there was no way to positively identify items this old from a photo. And they didn't want to misidentify anything.

You are probably going to need an in-hand appraisal. It looks promising, the way it is displayed, I would say the former owner thought it was something better.
