Who made these ceramic deco/art nouveau lady bookends?

    I found these last week thrifting - there is a wone strip on the bottom that looks like Designer: Pelz or Pelzer (something) Designs - but I haven't found another using image search and googling Pelzer designs all I found was a David Pelzer bookstore - could these be by him?

    From the bottoms, I would expect deco-revival rather than original period. I'm seeing: PELE**N DESIGNS

    I'm seeing PELZ*** Not sure that last letter is an N, but could be.
